Site Pre-inspection
Our service technician will visit you to inspect the areas to be cleaned. He will note the carpet type, condition, level of soiling and check areas of particular concern such as stains or other damage

At the same time, he will take note of who resides or works in the building, paying particular attention to the presence of children, pregnant women and allergy sufferers. This inspection allows our technician to determine which cleaning solutions will be most suitable for the job, and make him aware of any areas that may require special treatment.

Pre-vacuum
This step removes dry soil from the carpet. Studies by the IICRC have shown that up to 97% of the soil within a carpet is dry soil.

If this dry soil is not properly removed prior to washing and spraying, the cleaner will be left with a muddy carpet, which is far more difficult to clean.

At Alpha Cleaning Company we use green commercial upright vacuums or backpacks with HEPA filters to vacuum the carpet thoroughly.

Pre-Spray
Pre-conditioners are sprayed onto the carpet and left for 10 to 15 minutes, a period called the dwell time.

This is the step where the real cleaning takes place. Pre-conditioners are the workhorses of carpet cleaning, as they cause the deep soil to become suspended in the carpet pile, ready to be flushed away.

Because most soil is acid, pre-conditioners and detergents are alkaline. This makes it easier to penetrate the deep soiling and extract it.

Agitation / Washing
Using a special rotary machine, the detergent is massaged deep into the carpet fibers.

This washing action ensures that the detergent is evenly distributed, maximizing the effectiveness of the solution.

Rinse and Extract
Once the soil has been loosened, our Hot Water Extraction process will thoroughly flush the carpet. This step sanitizes, deodorizes and most importantly, neutralizes the carpet.

Recurring spots and carpets that look dirtier a few days after being cleaned than they did before make many of our clients apprehensive. An understanding of the chemistry of cleaning and pH levels explains this common experience. The alkaline pre-conditioner used in the pre-spray step will not stop cleaning until it is neutralized.

Once the alkaline is in your carpet, it will continue cleaning, drawing soil off shoes, toys and even the air until the carpet is filthy again. This explains the horror stories of carpets that looked clean when the technician left the house, but within a few days looked dirtier than ever.

Neutralization is the key to proper carpet cleaning and carpet longevity, and we ensure that your carpet is neutralized before moving to the next step.

Spot Removal
If any spots are not removed during the cleaning process, we employ specialty spotting techniques to remove them.

Unfortunately, permanent stains identified at the pre-inspection may not be removed by either of these processes.

Speed Dry
To finish we will speed dry your carpet using Studebaker Airpath system. It forces warm air from the room downward toward the carpet while providing a stream of air that aggressively dries the carpet.
